Typical mediaeval Tuscan towns |
Campiglia Marittima, Suvereto and Belvedere. In the course of a single afternoon we can visit three separate nearby towns, all beautiful examples of mediaeval architecture. Then in the evening we can finish off the day by sampling Tuscany’s varied cuisine in a Suvereto restaurant. |
On the other afternoons there are many attractive small towns or centres of culture to be explored. If you don’t want to go far, there is Bolgheri to the north or Massa Marittima or Castiglione della Pescaia to the south. These towns are both uniquely beautiful. Wander through the alleyways, gaze out at the panoramas and then round off the day with a visit to a Tuscan restaurant or pizzeria. On the other hand, if you would rather go to a well-known centre of culture, Volterra can be reached in an hour. The history and architecture of this town - contemporary, Roman or Etruscan - is truly amazing. Or again, Lucca, Siena or Florence are only 1½ hours´ drive away. Whichever you choose, you won’t be disappointed! |
If you’d rather just relax, you can drive to our superb beaches with their crystal-clear Mediterranean water, where you’ll often find tempting restaurants right on the beach. In the cooler months, you can go to the thermal baths or do some sport. There’s something for everyone! |
